Overview
Council is undertaking a major road project with the rehabilitation of Wheelers Lane between Birch Avenue and the railway line. The schedule of works is proposed to take six months to complete and will involve the relocation of a water main and replacement of the current pavement. The pavement will be replaced with new materials and an asphaltic wearing surface will be constructed.
The outcome of this body of works will improve the road network at this location where there are large traffic volumes including heavy vehicles.
This schedule of work is the first of two stages, located on Wheeler’s Lane, with stage one, the section of road between Birch Avenue and the rail line, proposed to commence on 22 May 2023.
Works will be undertaken between 6am and 6pm. It is anticipated the stage 1 works will be completed by September 2023, however this is subject to any unforeseen delays.
This schedule of capital works was committed by Council as a two stage project:
1. Wheelers Lane | Birch Ave to Railway Line
2. Wheelers Lane | Myall Road to Railway Line
