Barden Park to undergo resurfacing

21 February 2024

Barden Park Athletics Centre of Excellence will have the synthetic running track replaced in March, thanks to funding from the NSW Government.

Whilst the works are carried out the facility will be closed to all users from Monday 11 March 2024 for approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

The resurfacing process involves grinding back the current surface and then laying a new synthetic topcoat over the track.

The synthetic surface must be replaced to be accredited through the International Association of Athletics Federations and to be able to hold major athletics events.
