Overview

Barden Park Athletics Centre of Excellence offers community, sporting groups and schools an accredited standard synthetic running track and event infrastructure. Council undertakes regular assessments of the facility condition which identified some improvements that were required and subsequently, was awarded funds from the NSW Government to fund the project. Further funding was identified through the operational budget to deliver the total project for community.

The renewal of the track surface will ensure that the community can continue to stay active and support the 25+ regionally based athletic competitions held annually hosted by schools, clubs and associations such as NSW championships.

The proposed works are expected to take 6 weeks to complete, weather permitting with the facility closed to the public for the duration commencing March 2024. Community are encouraged to +Follow this page for up-to-date information.

Proposed scope

Stage 2 | Relaying the rubberised track surface.

Stage 3 | Line marking of the track.

Stage 4 | Replacement of throwing event netting.

Stage 5 | Replacement of track event marking on running rail.

Stage 6 | Obtain certification confirming that the track meets World Athletics Standard Level 2.
