Drones collecting data for Smart and Cool Places Program

9 November 2023

The University of NSW will be flying drones over parts of Southlakes and South Dubbo between 10 and 12 November.

The drones will measure temperatures through infrared imaging and will not capture traditional videography like other drones ensuring the privacy of the community is maintained.

Council is working with the university and Maitland City Council on the Smart and Cool Places program.
