Overview

The Northern Bore Field Pipeline Project intends to extend Dubbo's existing groundwater supply infrastructure by constructing a further 9km of pipeline and connecting new bore sites in North Dubbo with the John Gilbert Water Treatment Plant in Macquarie Street. The Northern Bore Field Pipeline will be constructed within the road reserves of Bunglegumbie, Troy Bridge and Nulla roads as well as across Council owned land.

Background

To date, Council has delivered all drought security projects within the Local Government Area in accordance with the $30M Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) Funding Deed DWS025 – Dubbo Drought Groundwater Infrastructure Project, first entered into by Council on 20 December 2019. Since receiving these funds, Council has dramatically increased its access to groundwater in Dubbo, Geurie and Wellington including the construction of 14.43km of bore water pipelines servicing the John Gilbert Water Treatment Plant.

The Northern Bore Field Pipeline will be constructed on Council owned land and within the public road reserves of Bunglegumbie, Troy Bridge and Nulla Roads. The project impact has been identified as low for surrounding areas.

Resources are committed to the project but weather and unforeseen changes could cause delays. Any delays within the projected timeline and project delivery will be communicated across this site and through the media.

Leed Engineering and Construction will be providing letters to all residents in the direct vicinity of the pipeline construction works. The community will be kept up to date through this project page and media releases for council related news and updates.
