Overview
The Dubbo City Animal Shelter, located at 30L Boothenba Road, Dubbo. was constructed in 2005 to serve the Dubbo City Local Government Area. Over the years, the facility has reached its capacity and is now nearing the end of its functional lifespan, unable to sustain growing demand of our expanding region.
To address these challenges and ensure the continued welfare of our animals and staff, a new, state of the art animal shelter will be constructed at the same location. This new facility will significantly increase our capacity to house animals, allowing us to provide top-tier care and support.
On average, the shelter has handled 2,216 dogs and cats annually over the past 3 years. The new facility will not only expand our capacity but also provide our staff with the necessary space to efficiently manage and implement various programs and services for the community.
The new Dubbo City Animal Shelter is projected to be completed by April 2025. This project is a vital step towards securing a brighter future for our animals and meeting the needs of our growing region.
