To nominate

  1. Propose a name and tell us in 500 words or less the significance of your nominated name.
  2. Upload any supporting documents you wish to supply to further support your nomination.
  3. Submit your nomination before 9am Monday, 8 July 2024.

Once all nominations are received, Community will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred name from an approved shortlist. The chosen name will then be submitted to Council in August for endorsement before being sent to the GNB for final approval.

Before you nominate

  • Remember

    • Clearly state the name within the title
    • Align within a category
      • Native flora or geographical feature
      • Served in a recognised conflict
      • Connection with the local Wiradjuri people, custom or stories
      • Family name with long association
      • Historically significant (Event, moment or location)
      • Notable hero or icon who has achieved or made significant contributions, posthumously
    • Address the significance of the nominated name within the Dubbo Region in the submission section

  • A nomination won't be considered if

    • It fails our moderation policy
    • Difficult to pronounce, spell and write
    • Private information is deemed to be released
    • More than 25 characters or exceeds 3 words in length
    • Include initials or numerals eg. A.B 11
    • Postnominals and titles are included. Except the use of 'VC'
    • Abbreviated or includes acronyms
