Overview
The Tracker Riley Cycleway / Walkway offers residents and visitors to our city a 13.65-kilometre loop around the Macquarie River / Wambuul from the Emile Serisier Bridge in the North to the Shibble Bridge in the South, connecting our CBD to tourist attractions and various access points to sporting grounds, amenities, community infrastructure, the Macquarie River / Wambuul and surrounding suburbs.
The familiar red and green signage along the Tracker Riley Shared Pathway was developed c1996. Council has identified the need to upgrade the look of the signs and the information presented to the community. In 2022 Local Roads and Community Infrastructure awarded Dubbo Regional Council $250,000 with the intent to extend visitor and resident interest and highlight points of history, education and environment along the river corridor, providing a more accessible and cultural offering.
The installation of this new signage will allow for ongoing maintenance and updates to the information; the face plates offer a sustainable solution as new open space offerings develop and continue to enhance the river corridor experience.
Identified signage points
During the first Stage of the project, funded by Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Phase Three, 34 signs will be installed at major decision points and other points around the shared pathway. Explore the identified sign points below.
There are four sign designs which vary the level of information provided at various points around the track.
