Council is seeking feedback from users and community on the engagement group structure for the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets.
The current adopted structure is the reference group style, however it has not yet been fully implemented whilst the outcome of the Management Review was being completed.
Community can place their preference through a vote below or make a formal submission before Monday 8 December 2025. Here are the proposed structures we are seeking your feedback on.
An informal, group or network. Targeted through invite or opt-in. Who are regularly kept informed on Council activity being undertaken in a particular area of interest. A group may be established as required for example, strategy development.
The role of the group is to support a higher level of information sharing with invested community members and enable active participation in engagement activities or facilitated sessions generally over an extended period.
A formally established Committee where membership is predetermined by position and has Councillor membership operating in a formal capacity similar to previous terms of Council.
The committee's role is to be a voice for the community sector/s to which they represent. Committee members are active participants and act as a conduit for information between the committee and the community.
November 2024 this model was not endorsed citing that the formal structure did not meet the needs of stakeholders.
In accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 1998, written submissions received by Council containing personal information may be made public when the matter goes before Council for consideration, as it may be included in Council’s Business Papers. Persons have the right to remain anonymous if they so choose by refraining from submitting their personal information, however, the submission may be given less weight in the overall assessment and consideration of the draft Terms of Reference and Code of Meeting Practice.
