After the initial public exhibition, further consultation has prompted additional amendments to the plan. These revisions are aimed at ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and enhancing our approach to privacy management. Key updates include:

  • Ensuring compliance with various acts referenced within the plan
  • Conducting a process review to strengthen support for the plan once adopted
  • Incorporating a data breach approach and response.

The revised draft Privacy Management Plan is on public exhibition until 9am, Tuesday 2 July 2024.

✍Make a submission

In accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 1998, written submissions received by Council containing personal information may be made public when the matter goes before Council for consideration, as it may be included in Council’s Business Papers. Persons have the right to remain anonymous if they so choose by refraining from submitting their personal information, however, the submission may be given less weight in the overall assessment and consideration of the draft Plan.

🗃️Background

A recent review identified Dubbo Regional Council’s Privacy Management Plan required updating. This in-depth review was to ensure Council remains compliant with the latest legislative changes and to guarantee that public-facing information remains accurate, consistent and correct.

Once the draft Privacy Management Plan has been finalised and adopted, all internal content will reflect the adopted Plan and Council staff informed to ensure compliance across the organisation.

Feedback received during the public exhibition highlighted the need for revisions to the plan.
