Overview

The draft Communications, Media and Brand policy provides guidelines on how we present ourselves to our community and the wider region.

The policy is all about making sure we speak with one voice, act professionally across all platforms, and build trust through every interaction.

By sticking to a clear and consistent corporate identity, we help our community recognise and connect with us, while supporting smooth and effective service delivery

  • Our brand elements—like our logo, colours, and messaging—are used with care to ensure everything we share feels unmistakably us.
  • Our communications to our residents, whether a social media post, a public statement or a private letter should be timely, honest, and aligned with our values.
  • We engage openly and respectfully with the media, community, and stakeholders, always aiming to build strong, positive relationships and because our reputation matters, we communicate ethically and proactively.

Whether we’re engaging with the media, chatting with the community, or collaborating with stakeholders, we aim for openness, transparency, and strong relationships.

The draft Communications, Media and Brand policy combines Dubbo Regional Council’s Corporate Image Policy (2017) and Dubbo Regional Council’s Media Policy (2023).

By combining these policies, we have streamlined our approach and ensured consistent representation across all channels.

We encourage all members of the community to review the policy and share their views.

This policy will be open for feedback, until 9am, Monday 1 September 2025.
