Overview

We are reviewing our Disability Inclusion Action Plan, and we want to directly hear from people with lived experience of disability, as well as carers and supporters, to share what’s working, what isn’t, and where things could be better.

Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan is guided by three core themes. Accessibility, Inclusion, and Engagement, which shape the plans four strategic priorities, Positive Attitudes, Liveability, Meaningful Employment, and Systems and Processes. These themes clarify the areas where Council can influence change, including the design and use of buildings and public spaces, the delivery of service programs, the way Council communicates and interacts with the community, and the policies and decisions that guide Council's work.

Some key matters such as health services, disability supports, housing providers, and the NDIS are delivered and overseen by other organisations. Your feedback enables Council to advocate on your behalf by highlighting community experiences and collaborating with the appropriate agencies to support improvements.

All feedback will be reviewed and used to guide future priorities. We’ll also report back to the community on what we heard and how it influenced the updated plan.
