Overview
The Cultural Council is being established as a dynamic new group that will champion the role of a strong cultural sector. Its purpose is to foster strategic conversations, build meaningful connections, and advocate for cultural development and access across the region.
Through its advocacy, the Cultural Council aims to spark progress across all sectors, contributing to a healthier, happier, and more prosperous region. Our cultural sector is powered by the dedication of our vibrant creative community, thriving on local talent, diversity, and visionary ideas.
As a member of the Cultural Council, you will have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to high‑level discussions on regional cultural growth and investment.
- Champion balanced and strategic approaches to cultural funding and advocacy.
- Explore opportunities for new funding, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Build and strengthen networks that advance cultural opportunities across the Dubbo Region.
This Expression of Interest invites applications from community members who can reflect and represent the following stakeholder areas:
- Social Services Community Representatives (2)
- This may include stakeholders from health services, community services, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, disability and aged services, and youth services.
- Regional Creative Practitioners (4)
- This may include stakeholders from creative, cultural, or heritage organisations; independent creative practitioners; and event or program managers.
Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate strong multi‑sector or interagency engagement. The Cultural Council seeks representatives with diverse experience across multiple stakeholder groups or creative sectors, who can effectively advocate for collaboration and strategic alignment.
