Overview 2024
Cameron Park Playground is set to undergo the installation of a fence. Recent consultation with the community saw overwhelming support for an enclosed playground due to safety concerns attributed to its proximity to the highway and river.
More recently, existing sandstone blocks were removed from the playground in early preparation for the installation and to sustainably support the Great Australian Stone Festival held in March.
Considerations for the fence design include its height, aiming for a proposed elevation of 1.1m above ground level. A balance between unobstructed views while maintaining the safety of children.
The project is scheduled to commence in early May 2024, weather permitting.
These works will not cause significant disruptions to the community. We acknowledge there will be times when access and noise may cause discomfort when visiting the area for families, visitors and cafe patrons. We appreciate your patience and supervision of children during these times.
