Overview

Cameron Park located in Wellington was identified for a lighting audit after the current lighting within the park was prioritised due to community safety and wellbeing. The audit highlighted the need for increased visibility and night-time landscape to support community events and activities and illuminate unique features within the park for visual appeal.

The following lighting works are scheduled to commence:

  • Replacement of all existing light poles within Cameron Park
  • Extend the current lighting to include the path between Bell Park and Cameron Park via the Sunken Garden Path
  • Refurbish the two gate post lights
  • Installation of spotlights on some poles to highlight the sunken garden, dry wall sculpture, cenotaph, and fountain.

The strategic design of lighting will ensure the park is lit in a cost effective, environmentally sustainable and socially beneficial delivery for the future of Wellington's residents and visitors.
