Further works have been undertaken
Following a rigorous and conservative tendering process this project was delivered under budget which allowed for four additional solar lights to be commissioned in the area to provide additional lighting to the carpark and clubhouse facilities.
The additional infrastructure works were completed late January 2024.

Power upgrade
The concluding phase of the John McGrath Ovals Lighting Project is set to conclude on Thursday, 12 October, 2023.
This final phase involves enhancing the power infrastructure. Please note that during this power upgrade, there will be a temporary power outage affecting the facilities at John McGrath, Katrina Gibbs, and Bob Dowling.
Overview
The John McGrath Fields sports lighting project is valued at $683,206 and allows six additional fields in Dubbo to be lit to the Australian Standard for sporting competitions and in turn increases the usage of these multi-purpose fields.
The project includes a power upgrade and the installation of poles and cabling, with LED lighting used to minimise the environmental footprint and economic impact to user groups.
