Over the next 12 months, we are dedicated to providing essential services that enhance the well-being and growth of our community. This includes ensuring reliable water and waste management, renewing and reconstructing key assets in our road network, and building new footpaths. Our commitment extends to maintaining and improving infrastructure to support a safer and more connected community, ensuring that everyone has access to the services they need for a better quality of life.

🛣️Projects

  • Rural and Urban Roads

    Council proposes to invest $23.1M on the reconstruction and renewal of rural and urban roads in the local government area. Some of the urban and rural road renewal and construction projects proposed for the next 12 months include Sheraton Road, Benolong Road Stage 3, Dick Street in Bodangora, Eurimbla Road, Gollan Road widening and the continuation of the River Street West Collector Road.

  • Wellington Water Treatment Plant

    The upgrade of the filters at the Wellington Water Treatment Plant will renew ageing infrastructure and ensure that Council is delivering on its action from the 2025/2026 operational plan to ensure water infrastructure and services meet the needs of the community by providing safe quality drinking water.

  • Free Recycling programs

    Continue free recycling programs to help divert waste from landfill. Our recycling programs have been well supported by the community to date and over the next 12 months we will be continuing to offer these recycling streams free of charge for residents. Some of these programs include polystyrene, scarp metal, batteries, textiles, cardboard, e-waste, motor oil.

  • Footpaths

    Council proposes to spend $607,000 to renew and construct new paved footpaths including Cobra St (Capstan to Sheraton Rd), Wheelers Lane (Douglas Mawson Dr to Myall St), Dalton St (Tamworth St to Ronald St) East and Fitzroy St (Tamworth St to Ronald St) west.
