🌲Projects

  • Renewal of Recreation structures

    Council proposes to spend $700,000 on the renewal of recreation structures across the region. The renewal and replacement of several recreational structures is proposed including Elston Park water park, the Biodiversity Garden walkway, Osawano Garden front fence and pavilion deck and the Lions Park West Playground shade structure.

  • Sporting facilities

    It is proposed to invest $450,000 on upgrading the lighting at Apex Oval and general maintenance on two grandstands. The upgrade to LED energy efficient lighting will reduce lighting costs for sporting groups. Additional funds are also allocated as part of the draft budget to undertake general maintenance at the Apex Oval and Barden Park grandstands.

  • Wellington Caves

    Council is proposing to renew the playground softball and landscaping at the Wellington Caves. It is also proposed to allocate funds for the renewal of the Phosphate Mine. This is to commence removal of debris from the flooding events in recent years and reinforcing and replacing infrastructure to further stabilise the area to enable the facility to welcome visitors back to this experience.

  • Street Trees

    To support the replacement and addition of new street trees within the Dubbo Region, to continue to increase the region’s tree canopy, Council is proposing to allocate an additional $200,000 to street trees in the draft 2025/2026 Budget.
